Physical Gallery Space

As the platform grows, 1 Director 50 Posters envisions the creation of a permanent gallery space in New York dedicated to the art and culture of poster design. This space would serve as both an archive and a living program—hosting the annual exhibition as well as rotating shows, workshops, talks, and screenings throughout the year.

The gallery would function as a hybrid between a design studio, cinema space, and cultural institution—offering room for reflection, education, and production. It would house physical archives of each year’s collection, allowing audiences to revisit past editions while spotlighting emerging work.

More than a venue, the gallery would formalize the platform’s mission: to position poster design not as promotional material, but as a form of cultural authorship. It would offer designers a stable, visible space to exhibit work, and establish poster design as a practice worthy of ongoing critical attention and institutional support.
